We are happy to introduce the JHPL's brand new Little Free Art Gallery! This vibrant and beautifully illustrated gallery was planned, designed, and built by local high school senior Eilee Reed for their Girl Scout Gold Award. Much like a Little Free Library, this Little Free Art Gallery exists as a way to spark new connections within a community. Artists of all ages are invited to add their creations to the gallery--any kind of art is welcome so long as it fits in the box--and anyone is welcome to bring a donated piece home.
To help kick off this beautiful addition to our library, Eilee is leading several art programs at the JHPL! On Friday January 9th, kids created neon paintings; on Monday January 12th, artists of all ages tried their hand at Picasso-style self portraits; and on January 15th, Eilee will lead a zentangle landscape workshop for adults.
The Little Free Art Gallery is currently on display inside of the JHPL and will be permanently installed outside in the early spring. We're so grateful to be a part of Eilee's Girl Scout Gold Award journey, and we can't wait to see the creativity and joy that this new initiative will help spread!
